RANGELEY — The Maine Warden Service is resuming recovery efforts for the bodies of three snowmobilers in Rangeley Lake.
Officials say they plan to be on the lake Thursday morning in search of three Maine men who are thought to have accidentally ridden into open water Sunday night. A fourth person, a 44-year-old Yarmouth woman, riding separately was also killed Sunday when she plunged into the lake.
Wardens have recovered gloves and helmets believed to belong to the missing men, and say there are snowmobile tracks that lead to the area that has yet to freeze near the middle of the lake.
Officials are urging snowmobilers to use extreme caution when venturing on Maine's numerous lakes and ponds.
