The Maine Red Claws added a couple of potential scorers in the first two rounds of the NBA Development League draft Friday night.

The Red Claws selected former Mississippi forward Terrance Henry with the 10th pick in the first round, then added guard Frank Gaines of IPFW (Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne) with the first pick of the second round, at No. 18.

Henry, 6-foot-9, 228 pounds, played in France last year, averaging 10.9 points and 4.4 rebounds, while hitting 56.1 percent of his field goal attempts, for Hermine Nantes Atlantique.

While at Mississippi, he averaged 8.3 points in his career, 12.5 in his senior year. He is considered a quick offensive threat with the ability to drive or hit the pull-up jumper.

Gaines averaged 19.8 points a game last year for IPFW, with 1.2 assists and 1.4 steals.

Carlos Strong, a graduate of Deering High who also played basketball at Boston University, was the 34th overall pick in the draft. He was selected by the Bakersfield Jam.
