Republican incumbent Lance E. Harvell beat Democrat Keith Welch 2,362 to 1,847 in the race for House District 89 Tuesday.

Harvell won in both of the district’s towns. In Farmington, he won 2,116 to 1,648 and in Industry 246-199.

Harvell, 49, of Farmington, who is serving his first full term, said he would address the economy by reducing energy costs, building a more skilled workforce and simplifying the corporate tax code.
