SOUTH PORTLAND — Southern Maine Community College is offering free weatherization classes to help homeowners cut their energy bills.
The two-hour classes will teach participants how heat escapes from homes and what cost-effective steps can be taken to increase energy efficiency.
College President Ron Cantor says the workshops will give people an opportunity to stay warm at a time when oil prices are going up and heating assistance and temperatures are going down.
The classes are being offered on Tuesday and again on Saturday.
