CAPE ELIZABETH — Middle and high school students from several Maine towns are competing in the 5th Annual Maine VEX Robotics Championship.
Saturday's competition at Cape Elizabeth Middle School is organized by the University of Maine Black Bear Robotics Club.
More than 30 student teams are testing their real-world skills at engineering, math and science.
Teams come from all parts of Maine. There's one team from Vermont and New Hampshire, and two from Massachusetts.
The event is sponsored by the UMaine College of Engineering and Fairchild Semiconductor.
