BOSTON — The Portland Sea Dogs enjoyed their day in a big-league ballpark Saturday, as they beat the Harrisburg Senators 5-2 at Fenway Park.

Billed as the Futures at Fenway, Saturday’s game is an annual event involving Red Sox minor league teams. This year, Portland squared off against Harrisburg, an affiliate of the Washington Nationals.

Sea Dogs starter Keith Couch (8-3) threw a two-hitter over seven innings, allowing two runs. He retired 16 of the last 17 batters he faced, the one batter reaching on an error.

Portland’s offense was paced by Travis Shaw who hit a single, double and his team-leading 13th home run. Shaw’s solo shot in the fourth reached the bullpen beyond right field.

Heiker Meneses added a two-run double off the Green Monster and Shannon Wilkerson also had an RBI.

The Sea Dogs (53-54) and Senators (59-49) play again Sunday at 1 p.m., back at Hadlock Field.
