NEWRY — Skiers are hitting the slopes on a dozen trails at two Maine ski mountains for an early start to ski season.
Nine trails are open at the Sunday River ski resort in Newry, while Sugarloaf in Carrabassett Valley is reporting three open trails.
Sunday River, which opened last Tuesday, says it’ll be scaling back to six trails on Monday.
Sugarloaf says it’ll be shutting down on Monday for additional snowmaking and grooming during the midweek, with plans to reopen on Friday.
