Snow, ice cause power outages in Maine

Bangor Hydro was reporting more than a thousand outages as of 7 a.m. today.

BANGOR — The Bangor Hydro Electric Company says customers in northern Penobscot County have been experiencing power outages due to overnight snow and ice.

The company was reporting more than a thousand outages as of 7 a.m. on Wednesday. Most of the customers are in Millinocket and surrounding towns.

Crews are expected to work through the day to restore power.
