    Details: Holcomb won the gold medal in the 4-man bobsled in the 2010 Vancouver Olympics. He also competed in the 2006 Olympics and won four world bobsled championships. Langton joined Holcomb in winning a bronze medal in the two-man competition in Sochi.

    Event: Slalom

    Sochi: Gold medal in women's slalom

    Details: Shiffrin won a world championship slalom gold medal and the World Cup slalom title in 2013. This will be her first Olympics. She joined the U.S. Ski Team three years ago. Shiffrin became the youngest skier ever to win an Olympic slalom championship.

    Sochi: Gold medal in halfpipe skiing

    Details: Bowman has been a member of the U.S. freestyle ski team for three years. She won her first X Games gold medal in 2013 and took the AFP halfpipe title last year. The event is new to the Olympics in 2014.

    Event: Bobsled (Meyers, driver; Williams, brakeman)

    Sochi: Silver medal in twoman bobsled

    Details: Meyers won a bronze medal in the two-woman bobsled in the 2010 Vancouver Olympics. She has also won two world championships in bobsled competitions in 2012 and 2013. Williams won a silver medal in the 100 meters at the 2004 Athens Games. She won World Cup gold in bobsled in Austria in January.

    Details: Greubel was an alternate on for the U.S. Olympic Team in 2010. She won a silver medal in the 2012 world cup. Evans competed in both shot put and sprints at UNLVand the University of Illinois and competed in shot put in the 2008 Olympic trials.

    Event: Giant slalom, super-G, super combined

    Sochi: Gold medal in ginat slalom

    Details: Ligety is 2006 Olympic gold medalist and four-time World Cup giant slalom champion. He has been a member of the U.S. Ski Team for 10 years and a on U.S. Olympic teams in 2006 and 2010.

    Born: May 8, 1986

    Hometown: New Haven, Connecticut

    Details: Deibold, a graduate of Vermont's Stratton Mountain School, won the bronze medal in Sochi's snowboardcross event. He also stood on a podium at Sochi last winter in a 2013 FIS World Cup event, where he placed second.

    Details: Miller is a two-time World Cup overall champion, four-time World Champion and five-time Olympic medalist. With his bronze in Sochi Miller became the oldest man to win an Olympic Alpine medal.
