HOULTON – The former daughter-in-law of a pawnshop owner on trial for murder testified Wednesday she was told he killed his girlfriend 15 years ago, dismembered her body and burned the parts in a furnace.
Paris Voisine told jurors that she heard her husband and his friend describe how her husband’s father, George Jaime Sr., had killed Starlett “Star” Vining, put the remains in a plastic bag and burn them before disposing of the ashes.

When Voisine later said she wanted to go to police, her husband told her that if she did, she’d “be the next one in the garbage bag,” she testified.
Jaime, 76, is charged in the death of Vining, who went missing in 1998 and whose body hasn’t been found. Jaime wasn’t arrested until last year.
Voisine was married to Jaime’s son, Ted Jaime, who testified Tuesday the he saw Vining’s bloody body in his father’s apartment and then left to enlist the help of his friend, James Campbell, to help clean up the murder scene.
Campbell, who now lives in Easton, said Wednesday that George Jaime told him that he killed Vining and was proud of it, according to WAGM-TV.
Vining, who was 38 when she disappeared, wasn’t officially reported missing until 2006. Family members told police they didn’t report her missing sooner because she was known to relocate often.
