WINDSOR – Three local residents were found dead Saturday after their Jeep apparently became stuck in a bog.

The two men and one woman were last seen alive around 7 p.m. Friday, before they left to go off-road riding in the bog, according to Capt. Dan Davies of the Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office.

Around 7:20 p.m. Saturday, their bodies were discovered in a Jeep about 300 yards off Crosby Road, Davies said.

Police were not identifying the victims Saturday night because their families had not been notified.

Davies said a preliminary investigation suggests the group may have been overcome by carbon monoxide poisoning in the vehicle. The Jeep had its roof on.
