NORRIDGEWOCK — The CEO of New Balance says he hopes a visit from the Obama administration’s top trade official will encourage manufacturing in Maine.
U.S. Trade Representative Michael Froman is visiting the footwear company’s manufacturing facility in Norridgewock on Monday. CEO Rob DeMartini says he hopes Froman’s tour will help shape his priorities and boost Maine manufacturing.
U.S. Sen. Susan Collins couldn’t join Froman because she’s in Washington, but she wrote a letter welcoming him to Maine and urging him to pursue a fair trade policy and to increase U.S. manufacturing.
