WINSLOW — Two Winslow High School students were killed late Friday in a head-on collision on South Reynolds Road.
Police were not releasing the names of the victims as they were still notifying next of kin, according to a news release issued by Lt. Josh Veilleux on Saturday morning.
“Winslow police can confirm that two people have died as a result of the crash,” the news release says. “Three people were transported to local emergency rooms. Unknown medical status as of 5:30 a.m.”
The accident occurred at 11:05 p.m. Police did not identify the victims as students but a notice posted on the Winslow High School Facebook page says two Winslow High School students were killed.
Counselors will be available at the school library from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday.
Police expect to release more information about the accident later today, according to Veilleux.
