UMaine tops Villanova in football

The Black Bears get a big game from QB Marcus Wasilewski in a 37-35 win.

VILLANOVA, Pa. — Marcus Wasilewski threw two touchdowns and ran for another Saturday as the University of Maine beat Villanova 37-35 in football at Villanova Stadium.

WHEN: 12:30 p.m. Saturday

Wasilewski gave the Black Bears the lead for good by throwing a 51-yard TD pass to Damarr Aultman with 5:28 left in the first quarter to wipe out a 7-3 deficit.

Nigel Jones scored a 15-yard TD run later in the first quarter.

UMaine improved to 7-1, 5-0 and 5-0 and first in the Colonial Athletic Association.
