The newest member of the British royal family shares a moniker with 995 baby Georges born in Maine since 1960, according to Social Security Administration data.

But the name’s popularity has plummeted in the new millenium. From 2001 to 2012, only 14 boys in Maine were named George – and all of them were in 2010.

In 2012, there were 100 baby boys named Mason, making it the most popular boy’s name in the state. The rest of the top five was rounded out by Liam, Noah, Owen and Jacob. Emma was the top name for baby girls in Maine, followed by Sophia, Abigail, Ava and Olivia.

Nationwide, the most popular name for baby boys is Jacob, followed by Mason, Ethan, Noah and the regal William. Sophia was the most popular name for baby girls in the nation, followed by Emma, Isabella, Olivia and Ava.

While it used to be a naming powerhouse, George has declined in popularity. It was the fourth most-used name for babies in the United States in 1911 and ranked in the top 10 throughout the 1920s, but now stands at 166th, far behind the more trendy Jacobs, Masons and Ethans.
