Waterville police search for man carrying rifle

The man is reported to possibly be intoxicated.

WATERVILLE — Police began a search about 5 p.m. near Front Street for a man who was reported carrying a rifle and who appeared to be intoxicated.

The man was first reported to have crossed from Winslow to Waterville across the Two-Cent Bridge, according to police radio traffic Monday.

Police were seen searching along Front Street, around the Two-Cent Bridge and the American Legion.
