Sunny skies shine on balloon festival

LEWISTON — The Great Falls Balloon Festival is ending with sunny weather for liftoffs in Lewiston.

The event got off to a rainy start Saturday morning but balloons were able to lift off Saturday evening. And sunny skies greeted balloonists for the final liftoffs on Sunday.

Nineteen balloons are participating in this year's festival and all of balloon rides were sold out.

The 20th annual Great Falls Balloon Festival was held at the Simard and Payne Memorial Park in Lewiston. It benefits local nonprofit groups.
