WINDHAM — The town of Windham’s first canine officer has passed away, according to a posting on the Police Department’s Facebook Page.

Max, who was retired, died Thursday, according to a dispatcher. His handler was Sgt. Bill Andrew.

“Max touched many lives, saved souls, found the lost, comforted the sad, and put many criminals behind bars,” the department wrote. “RIP Max. You will never be forgotten.”
