A Hiram woman who was reaching down to get her water bottle when she crashed into a stopped school bus in Standish last week has been cited for failure to maintain control of a vehicle.

The bus had 34 children on it when the 3:30 p.m. crash happened near 760 Ossipee Trail on Friday, Nov. 2.

Crystal Eastman, 31, was driving a Ford pickup when the westbound truck rear-ended a Subaru that had stopped for the eastbound bus, which was dropping off a child, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.

The pickup glanced off the Subaru and the front of the bus. The crash did $1,500 damage to the pickup and the bus. Nobody was injured.
