KITTERY — A teenager was transported to local hospital tonight after her car went off the road and hit a tree.

Sgt. Dan Soule of the Kittery Police Department said the girl, who is 16, was taken by ambulance to Portsmouth Regional Hospital more as a precaution than anything else.

The girl did not appear to have suffered serious injuries in the crash, which took place around 4:30 p.m.

The accident took place near the intersection of Haley Road and Parsonage Way in Kittery. There was no one else in the vehicle.
