The 295-foot-tall ship arrived Friday and is moored at the Maine State Pier as part of its 2012 cruise. It will be open to the public from 1 to 7 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.
The ship was built in 1936 and operated by Nazi Germany to train cadets for the German Navy. It was taken by the United States as a war prize after World War II and now serves as a Coast Guard training vessel.
