NEWINGTON, N.H. - The Newington fire chief is hospitalized with a serious head injury he sustained in a motorcycle accident.
Dale Sylvia, 45, was riding on Route 4 in Lee shortly before 5 p.m. Saturday when he collided with a car that turned into the path of his motorcycle while turning into a shopping plaza. The driver of the car was not injured.
Police said Sylvia was not wearing a helmet and suffered a head injury.
The Portsmouth Herald reported that Sylvia was flown by medical helicopter to Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine, where he was in stable condition on Sunday.
