GRAY – Gray-New Gloucester High School was evacuated for about 2½ hours Thursday morning after school officials found a bomb threat in a bathroom.
The threat was written on the wall of the bathroom, said Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office Capt. Shawn O’Leary. He declined to say what the note threatened, saying the investigation into the incident is continuing.
The note was discovered about 8:45 a.m., O’Leary said.
O’Leary said the school was searched by deputies, along with bomb-sniffing dogs from the Portland Police Department and Maine State Police.
Nothing was found during the search, he said.
A message left with school officials wasn’t immediately returned.
