PORTLAND — The Maine Red Claws, who have lost five of their last seven games, are getting some help.

The Boston Celtics have assigned guard Avery Bradley to the Red Claws. Bradley is the team’s first assignment to the Development League this season.

He was at the team’s morning shoot-around and will be in the lineup tonight when the Red Claws play Erie at the Portland Expo at 8.

Bradley, a 6-foot-2 guard, has appeared in 14 games for the Celtics this season averaging 1.1 points in 4.7 minutes per game. He was the 19th pick in last summer’s NBA Draft. He scored a season-high four points with a steal against the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday.
