MaineToday Media and WGME 13 announced Monday that they have entered into a partnership intended to enhance both media companies' 24/7 news coverage.
Starting today, the daily forecasts on the Portland Press Herald/Maine Sunday Telegram weather pages are being provided by Storm Team 13 meteorologists.
The two news organizations said they expect to share other content and reporting on the air, in print and on their Web sites. This includes an upcoming series of gubernatorial candidate debates.
Richard L. Connor, CEO of MaineToday Media and editor and publisher of the newspapers, said, "We are a new and reorganized media company, and we feel like we're partnering with another media company that also is in a renewal and growth phase.
"I'm also excited because we've found a partner that shares our commitment to covering this historic Maine gubernatorial race like it has never been covered before," Connor said.
WGME News and Operations Director Robb Atkinson said, "This is a win-win relationship. The content-sharing agreement between WGME and MaineToday Media will provide Mainers with unprecedented access to up-to-the-minute news, weather and sports information."
