PORTLAND — A block of tickets for the sold-out Aug. 4 concert by British folk rockers Mumford & Sons on Portland's Eastern Promenade were to go on sale today at 10 a.m.

The $69 tickets will be on sale until 6 p.m. today, only in person at Port City Music Hall, 504 Congress St., Portland. They will also be on sale the same times on Friday at Port City Music Hall only. Then on Saturday at 10 a.m. remaining tickets will be on sale online at gentlemenoftheroad.com.

A total of 3,000 tickets are scheduled to be sold.

Tickets went on sale for the day-long music festival event on June 1, and sold out the first day. The show's local promoter, Lauren Wayne of the State Theatre, has said she expects as many as 12,000 people for the show. In announcing the new block of tickets today, Wayne did not explain why more tickets have become available, except to say the release was a way to "best serve" Mumford fans in Greater Portland and Maine.

Just before 10 a.m. the line at Port City Music Hall stretched down the street and over 125 people were waiting. Several of these fans had missed out when tickets for the show initially went on sale on June 1.

The Aug. 4 show will begin at 2 p.m. and will include performances by St. Vincent, Dawes, Maccabees, the Apache Relay, and Haim.
