BOSTON — Three friends of Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev are asking that their cases be tried outside of Massachusetts.

The attorney for Dias Kadyrbayev filed papers in U.S. District Court on Tuesday asking that his client be included in change of venue motions made previously by Azamat Tazhayakov and Robel Phillipos.

Kadyrbayev and Tazhayakov, both Kazakhstan nationals, have pleaded not guilty to obstruction of justice and conspiracy for allegedly taking Tsarnaev’s laptop computer and a backpack containing fireworks from his college dorm room. Phillipos, of Cambridge, has pleaded not guilty to lying to authorities while being questioned.

Tazhayakov’s lawyer argued in a court filing last week that his client could not receive a fair and impartial trial from a jury in Massachusetts because of the intense publicity surrounding the case.
