Gubernatorial candidate Elizabeth “Libby” Mitchell’s campaign officially announced that former President Bill Clinton would be headlining a rally in Maine on Sept. 26 in South Portland.

Clinton will speak at the Southern Maine Community College’s gymnasium, and the doors will open at 7:30 p.m. The event is free, but space is limited, according to a release sent out by the campaign today. People can reserve tickets in advance at www.mainedems.org/clinton.

“It is an honor to have President Clinton campaign in Maine. As president, he helped shape an unprecedented period of economic growth that spurred the creation of more than 20 million new jobs,” Mitchell said in the release. “I look forward to sharing the stage with him as we talk about the importance of this election and how to get Maine’s economy back on track.”
