Gorham police have charged a Scarborough man with two counts of unlawful sexual contact stemming from an incident 10 years ago.
Police charged David C. Dougherty, 45, with the felony sex charge stemming from an alleged incident in 2002 at Wassamski Springs Campground that police say involved a 12-year-old boy. Dougherty was staying at a site at the campground and was acquainted with the boy, who also was staying there, said Sgt. Dana Thompson.

The alleged victim, now in his 20s, is the only victim police are aware of.
The incident was reported to police in April 2012 and the arrest concludes a five-month investigation, Thompson said.
Dougherty was arrested Monday at 3:45 p.m. and taken to Cumberland County Jail. He was later released on $2,500 bail. He is scheduled for arraignment on Nov. 14.
Police asked that anyone with information about the case to call 207-222-1660.
