STARKS — Police are investigating a shooting in the central Maine town of Starks.
Police say Kerry Hebert was flown by helicopter to Central Maine Medical Center after being shot on his own property about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Chief Deputy Dale Lancaster of the Somerset County Sheriff's Department told the Bangor Daily News that hunters were involved in the shooting, but that it wasn't a hunting accident.
Hebert was reported in serious condition Wednesday night, but police said his condition was improving.
As of late Wednesday night, nobody had been charged in connection with the shooting.
