STANDISH – Two people were injured Sunday night when their car collided with a 500-pound bull moose.

Chief Deputy Kevin Joyce of the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office said the collision took place around 8:30 p.m. on Oak Hill Road.

The driver, 31-year-old Justin Webster of Portland, had to be extricated from his 1997 Chevrolet Lumina. He was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland with serious injuries. A passenger, 21-year-old Jessica Rickman of Limington, was taken to the hospital with injuries considered non-life-threatening.
