Letter to the editor: Story unfairly questions Sea Hunter’s generous Maine owner

I’ve been reading your article on Greg Brooks, the Sea Hunter and its crew (“Key investors lose faith in Gorham treasure hunter’s big claims,” Dec. 30).

Your paper questions Mr. Brooks’ intentions. However, you might want to look back a few pages in your paper’s history and check what he and his crew put up with to deliver much-needed help during two of the most devastating recent disasters: Hurricane Katrina and the earthquake in Haiti.

Just ask his crew and, of course, your own Bill Nemitz, about the dangers they faced and the obstacles overcome. One should question their own character before they throw stones at another.

Remember, with investment comes risk!
