Regarding the governor’s “paranoid politics” (“Greg Kesich: Outburst confirms the paranoid politics of Paul LePage,” June 26), I must say that it was indeed refreshing to know that there is at least one “politician” (I detest using that pejorative on him) who understands that there is good and evil in the world, politics included. Here, I would categorize a constitutional republic as good and socialism as evil.

He also understands that there is no compromise with evil. As one may easily observe, we now have an evil government that takes the earnings of the intelligent and industrious by force and distributes it to the stupid and the lazy because of the democracy (mob rule), which our Founding Fathers railed against. Democracy has proven to be a suicidal form of government for this very reason.

So, dear Governor, I applaud your efforts and pray that you will continue to try to protect the freedoms and wallets of Maine’s citizens against those big government, tax-borrow-and-spend politicians who flood the halls of the Legislature.

One may note here that the more money government throws at education, the worse it gets. America is 13th of 14 industrialized countries in education. It was free enterprise, not government, that made America great.

Ronald Reagan had it quite correct when he said, “Government is not the solution. Government is the problem.”
