Barney Frank (“

On gambling, liberals prefer limits

,” May 12) never mentions the reason this liberal does not want to allow casinos in my state: greed and corruption.

There is enough libertarian in me that I believe people ought to have a right to do things harmful to themselves.

Although valid, reasons often cited by others, such as the real cost to the community and families financially and socially, are not the main reason for opposition to casinos.

Greed and corruption. Casinos are in a business with guaranteed profit that they take for themselves from the people of the community and the state.

They take that profit out of state and spend a portion of it buying our politicians.
