Morrison Center sale

The Morrison Center will hold its annual 25-cent Sale & Greenhouse Open House from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at 60 Chamberlain Road.

Proceeds from the sale will support the many programs and activities of the center.

Donations are greatly appreciated and may be dropped off at the center Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Historical society talk

The Scarborough Historical Society will meet Wednesday at the society's museum and meeting room, at 647A Route 1.

Speaker John Moon, author of the book "City by the Sea: A Photographic History of Portland, Maine," will give a slide presentation on historic buildings and monuments.

A brief business meeting will be held.

The public is invited to attend.

Self-publishing discussion

Local authors and members of the Maine Authors Publishing & Cooperative will share their experiences on the self-publishing process and will answer questions during a workshop from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Falmouth Memorial Library at 5 Lunt Road.

Foreign car show Sunday

The sixth annual Camden Foreign Car Show will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday. The entrance to the show area will be at Camden National Bank at Chestnut Street and Route 1.

The event is open to vintage British and European sports and touring cars that are more than 25 years old.

Awards will be given to the top three winners in three classes for sports cars and one class for saloons.

There will also be a Best in Show award.

Pre-registration is required online at www.mmscc.com.

The entrance fee is $5 for club members and $10 for non-members.

The event is sponsored by the Mid Maine Sports Car Club.

Global warming presentation

Lawyer Sharon Tisher will give a slide-show presentation, "Climate Reality: Connecting the Dots Between Extreme Weather and Global Warming," at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Camden Public Library at 55 Main St.

The talk explores the connections between global warming and extreme weather events, including severe storms, droughts and wildfires.

New songs at coffeehouse

A Songwriters Coffeehouse will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Camden Public Library at 55 Main St.

The songwriters have been working on their new songs all winter and will perform them at the June Coffeehouse. Led by veteran songwriters David Dodson and Jim James, the event is free and open to the public. Donations accepted.

Beach cleanup at park

A beach cleanup, hosted by Horny Toad and United By Blue, will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Winslow Memorial Park at 50 Winslow Park Way.

Volunteers should wear long pants and closed-toe shoes or rubber boots.

Car show at fairgrounds

The third annual Sho-N-Shine Car Show will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Cumberland Fairgrounds at 197 Blanchard Road.

Registration is from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Admission is $5 for adults; free for age 12 and under.

Attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishible items for a food drive to benefit area food pantries.
