    Summa and Magna Cum Laude Graduates

    Carrie Adams is the daughter of Peter and Lisa Adams and Salutatorian of her class. She is a National Merit Finalist, AP Scholar, Dartmouth Book Award winner, French Award winner, and received YHS’s Choral and Drama awards. She is an active member onstage with the YHS Playmakers and this year directed the senior play. She is on the YHS Interact Rotary Club board and is Co-President of the YHS Chamber Choir. She has performed with the Maine All-State Choir and this year's All-Eastern Choir. Carrie will be attending Brown University in the fall.

    Sam Beaulieu is the son of Jane Gagne and Roger Beaulieu. Sam played on the Varsity Tennis Team for four years and was Co-Captain senior year. Over his four years at YHS, Sam was involved in Class Council, Math Team, Science Olympiad, Robotics, Global Action Coalition, and BOLD (Building Our Lives Drug-and-alcohol-free). Sam was also a Playmaker for four years where he was involved in lighting and stage managing. Sam received the Phi Beta Kappa Award, Xerox Award for Innovation, and the MPA Principal’s Award. Sam will attend Boston University in the fall to study Computer and/or Electrical Engineering.

    Sarah Liesbet Becker is the daughter of Paul and Mary Becker of Yarmouth. A three season athlete, Sarah participated in Varsity Lacrosse, Nordic Skiing and Cross Country, serving as Captain for the latter two her senior year. She was a founding member of BOLD (Building Our Lives Drug-and-alcohol-free), and serves as a student leader on the Global Action Coalition. During her sophomore year, she attended The Island School fostering an interest in environmental science. She will attend Williams College in the fall of 2014 after a gap year in the Development Program at The Maine Winter Sports Center.

    Olivia Conrad is the daughter of Scott and Carolyne Conrad. Olivia participated in Girls' Soccer, Yarmouth Skiing, and Girls' Lacrosse for four years. Olivia was a member of the Student Senate for two years, serving as the chair of the School Culture Committee in her senior year. Olivia also served as Co-President of the Student Ambassadors Club at Yarmouth High School. Olivia was also a member of the Global Action Coalition and Yarmouth Playmakers. Olivia will be attending St. Lawrence University in the fall where she plans to pursue a degree in Pre-Medicine.

    Izik Dery is the son of Roger and Tammy Dery. Over the course of the four years that Izik spent as a student at YHS, he has learned a great deal from the wonderful teachers and staff, his outstanding parents Roger and Tammy, and his friends. He will attend the University of Washington at Seattle in the fall, yet however far he may travel, those for whom Izik cares the most will always be in mind. He's not sure where he'll be further in the future, and sometimes that can be stressful. But while knowing can be comforting, the hidden opportunities that the future may hold define life's great adventure.

    Brittany Elvidge is the daughter of Richard and Jane Elvidge. She participated on the Cross Country Team for the last three years. She was on the Ski Team and Softball Team her first two years. Brittany has been a member of the People for Animal Welfare club the last four years. This fall she will be attending the University of Tampa as a member of the Honors College. She plans to major in Biology.

    Claire Fouchereaux is the daughter of Jean and Karen Fouchereaux. During her years at YHS, she has been a member of the Model United Nations club for three years, the French club for two, and the chess club for four. This year, she joined Science Olympiad, and, with her partner Deanna Young, she won two bronze medals at the state meet. Claire will be attending the Honors College at the University of Maine and plans to double major in History and French.

    McKenzie Gray is the daughter of Keith and Renee Gray. She played soccer, basketball, and softball for four years. McKenzie was also a Captain for the basketball and softball teams and a Western Maine Conference 1st and 2nd team softball player. She has played ASA softball throughout high school. McKenzie has been a Clipper Buddy for three years, Student Senate Liaison to the School Committee for two years, a member of Global Action Club, and enjoyed participating in Playmakers her senior year. She was the recipient of the St. Anselm’s Book Award. This fall, McKenzie will attend George Washington University.

    Jackson Hall is the son of Molly Montgomery and Ted Hall. Jackson is a four-year member of the Student Senate, serving as President this year. He has participated in Model UN since his freshman year. Last summer, he and two classmates produced a video for the Yarmouth Alumni Association commemorating the fiftieth anniversary of the school. Jackson was the Nordic Ski Captain for two years and was on the cross-country and tennis teams. He is the recipient of both the DAR Good Citizen and Boyd Award. He presented at several national conferences about various aspects of Yarmouth High School. Outside of school, he is an avid surfer. Jackson will attend Colby College where he will study Environmental Policy and Film.

    Quinn Hathcock is the son of Drs. Byron Hathcock and Sharon Kelley. Quinn played for the lacrosse team for four years and played for the soccer and alpine ski teams for two years. He served as Co-President of the Student Ambassadors Organization and was involved with Clipper Buddies and the Student Tutoring Academic Resource program. He will be attending the United States Coast Guard Academy and plans to major in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering before serving in the Coast Guard as an officer.

    Nicole Hoehle is the daughter of Doug and Tammy Hoehle and sister to Connor Hoehle. Nicole participated in Playmakers for four years, was Co-President her senior year, and was “Playmaker of the Year” her freshman and junior years. She founded “Clipper TV,” Yarmouth High School's news source. She was Public Relations Chair for the Interact Club, a Clipper Buddy, and a member of the Chamber Choir. Last year she was awarded the Cornell Book Award, and this year she was honored to receive the Hector Hebert Award. Nicole is looking forward to attending Middlebury College in the fall.

    Chester Jacobs is the son of Christopher and Anne Jacobs. He is a National Merit Commended Scholar and AP Scholar with Honors. He was a member of the Varsity Nordic Ski Team for four years and was a Captain in his junior and senior years. Twice he was on Maine's team at the Eastern High School Nordic Ski Championships. Chester pitched for the Varsity Baseball Team and received the Nick Whittaker Pitching Award in 2012. He was a member of BOLD and a Clipper Friend. Chester will attend Bowdoin College this fall.

    Julia Kameisha is the daughter of John and Jennifer Kameisha. She was a member of the Varsity Soccer, Lacrosse, and Alpine Ski teams and was Co-President of the Interact Community Service Club. Julie was the recipient of the Saint Michael's Book Award, the Society of Women Engineer's Award and is an AP Scholar. Julie will be attending Wake Forest University in the fall where she plans to major in Biology.

    Daniel Keliher is the son of Elisabeth Dustin and Patrick Keliher. Daniel has participated in Math Team and Science Olympiad and was involved with Yarmouth’s Moody’s Mega Math Challenge team as both a junior and senior. Daniel has been heavily involved in Maine Chess, being both a member of scholastic and regional clubs as well as a member of the Maine Chess Association’s Policy Board. He participated in Model UN for four years with much success, winning the Best Delegate, Distinguished Delegate, and Diplomacy awards. Daniel will be attending Brown University in the fall where he intends to study Mathematics.

    Ally Knoll is the daughter of Paul and Dixie Knoll. Ally's deepest passion lives outside the classroom: horses, which she has been riding since age 4. She and her horse, Amigo, have competed for the past couple of years at Dressage and Jumping events throughout Maine. Ally is also a riding instructor to younger riders, and works at Evergreen Farm, The Freeport Tack Shop, and American Eagle. Ally will be traveling to Guatemala this summer in support of Safe Passage. This fall, Ally will attend Florida International University, where she will plans to major in Biology and Psychology.

    Caroline MacLeod is the daughter of Jim and Rebecca MacLeod. During her 4 years at YHS, Caroline played in the jazz band and pit orchestra as an upright bassist. She was also a member of the varsity ski and cross country teams. Caroline is active in music ensembles at the 317 Main Street Music Center in Yarmouth, performs at Acoustic Artisans in Portland, and volunteers at several community organizations, including the Preble Street Soup Kitchen. Caroline will be attending Fordham University in the fall.

    Ali Merrill is the daughter of Jim and Laura Merrill. Ali played Varsity Soccer for four years and Varsity Lacrosse for two years and was a Captain for both teams. She is a member of Newspaper club and regularly tutors at the middle school. She is a founding member of Coastal Youth Court and has been on the advisory council for two years. Ali will be attending Syracuse University in the fall.

    Harry Munroe is the son of Rusty and Chris Munroe. He was involved in Yarmouth Playmakers for 3 years, proudly serving as Co-President his senior year. He was on the Robotics Team for 3 years, going to the Worlds Competition last year. He was involved in Model UN, both at UMaine Orono and at Columbia University in New York. He also participated in Moody’s Mega Math Challenge and Class Council. He sang with Boy Singers of Maine for 5 years. His freshman year he attended Freeport High School where he was involved in drama, Model UN and was President of his class. In the fall, Harry will be attending Columbia University to study Engineering.

    John O'Gorman is the son of Jeff and Annette O'Gorman. John played baseball for four years and swam on the swim team his senior year. He also swam for the Casco Bay Stripers swim team for nine years. John was a member of the Math Team and the Chess Club for four years. He was a Dirigo Boys State delegate and has been recognized a youth leader. John will be attending Rochester Institute of Technology in the fall where he has been accepted into the Honors Program in Chemical Engineering.

    Laura Pietropaoli is the daughter of Paul and Kate Pietropaoli. She has been a part of the Clipper Friends program, a contributing member of the high school’s literary magazine, Play in the Street, and a choreographer for productions of the Yarmouth Playmakers. Laura has studied dance at Casco Bay Movers for nine years and with a Portland-based youth dance company throughout high school. She received the Outstanding Biology Student award and Cum Laude recognition for the National Latin Exam. Laura will be attending Bates College in the fall.

    Gina Lorraine Kuna Robertson is the daughter of Marie Kuna-Robertson and Doug Robertson. Gina strives to be an expert baker. She received the Smith College Book, the Ruth B. Plummer Award, and the Maine Masonic scholarship. Gina was Captain of the Girls Varsity Volleyball team. She also threw javelin and was a state finalist in 2012. She has enjoyed being a mentor for her Clipper Buddy. Gina will be attending Scripps College, a member of the Claremont Colleges in California, where she was awarded a Presidential Scholarship.

    Michael Smith is the son of Gary and Judiann Smith. Mike has played baseball and soccer all four years along with Nordic skiing. He was a member of BOLD, Global Action, GVS, and Student Senate Mike was a recipient of the Williams Book Award and is a National Merit Commended Scholar. He will be attending Fairfield University in the fall where he will likely study Chemistry.

    Emma Steinbach is the daughter of Karl and Julie Steinbach. Emma is proud to be graduating with over 140 hours of community service. She worked with Learning Works in Portland at the Reiche School, summer Art Classes for Yarmouth Community Service, and various Yarmouth Rotary projects. Emma was president of GSTA and the co-founder of the French club. She is a 4 year member of Playmakers and participated in Yarmouth Crew for 3 years. Emma received a Presidential Scholarship from Clark University and will be attending there in the fall pursuing a career in education.

    Libby Thompson is the daughter of Peter Thompson and Amy Aldredge. She has swum for the Yarmouth High School swim team for three years while also swimming for the Casco Bay YMCA Stripers swim team for twelve years. She has participated in both the Yarmouth Playmakers along with Clipper Buddies. Libby lived in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain as an exchange student during her junior year of high school. Next year, Libby will be attending the University of Aberdeen in Scotland where she plans to study Law.

    Abby Vogel is the daughter of Gretchen and Gary Vogel. Abby played rugby for four years with the Portland U19 Super Sows, as captain for two years, and the Portland Women’s Rugby Football Club. Abby played on both the New England and Northeastern U19 Select sides. She was the President of the Young Liberals Club for three years and was President of the Class of 2013 for two years. Abby will be attending University of California, Berkeley in the fall where she plans to continue playing rugby and study the Humanities.

    Amy Wasielewski is the Valedictorian at Yarmouth High School and the daughter of Matt and Cathy Wasielewski. She has danced at Casco Bay Movers Dance Studio for most of her life. Serving as a videographer, she also helped out with Clipper TV for the past two years. She was a member of other various clubs as well. In the fall, she will be attending Connecticut College with the intention of double majoring in Dance and Chemistry.

    Deanna Young is the daughter of Jeffrey and Maria Young. In 2012 she was chosen to attend the "Dive In to Marine Science" program at UMaine's Darling Marine Center and also Mount Desert Island Biological Laboratory's “Summer Academy in Genomics.” After figure skating with the North Atlantic Figure Skating Club in Falmouth for 10 years, she decided to dedicate her extracurricular time during high school to YHS’s theater group: Playmakers. Deanna will be attending Hawai'i Pacific University in the fall to major in Marine Biology and minor in Spanish. She plans to study abroad in Spain her sophomore year.
