Coastal Birding

8 a.m. in Ogunquit

Join Merrymeeting Audubon on a birding trip from Ogunquit to Biddeford Pool. The group will search for harlequin ducks, scoters, purple sandpipers and snowy owls. Bring a lunch or a snack and expect a stop at Congdon’s Doughnuts. Meet at the Brunswick Hannaford at 8 a.m. to car pool. For more information, call 841-1951.

Party at Aroostook State Park

10 a.m. in Presque Isle

Aroostook State Park is hosting its annual “Winter Family Fun Day.” Cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, ice skating (conditions permitting), guided nature interpretive walks, bonfires and hot food will fill the day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Instruction provided. Cost is $1.50 for ages 12 to 64; all others are free. For more information, call 768-8341.
