Celtics send two players to the Red Claws

Vitor Faverani and Vander Blue will gets some playing time in two weekend games

From Staff Reports

The Boston Celtics sent two players to the Maine Red Claws to get some playing time this weekend.

The Red Claws are playing games Friday and Saturday night at the Portland Expo, both at 7 p.m.

Vitor Faverani, a 6-foot-11 center from Brazil, will be making his second appearance at the Expo. He played for the Red Claws last Saturday.

Vander Blue, a 6-foot-4 guard from Marquette University, is wearing a Red Claws uniform for the first time. But Vander Blue is not a stranger to the NBA D-League. He was playing for Delaware – the team Maine is facing Friday night – when the Celtics signed him to a 10-day contract on Jan. 22.
