PORTLAND — The Phoenix Coyotes assigned goaltender Mike Lee from the Gwinnett Gladiators of the ECHL to the AHL’s Portland Pirates.
The move was made after Portland goalie Chad Johnson had to leave Sunday’s game against the Manchester Monarchs at the Verizon Wireless Arena because of an injury after playing 19 minutes of the 60-minute game.
The 6-1, 190-pound Lee has a 9-5-1 record with a 1.87 goals against average and a ,926 saves percentage in 15 games with the Georgia-based Gladiators.
In 14 games with the Pirates, Johnson, in his fourth professional season, is 7-5-0-2 with a 2.98 GAA and .908 saves percentage.
