Deering High track star named Gatorade athlete of year

PORTLAND — Jared Bell of Deering has been named as the Gatorade Maine High School boys' outdoor track athlete of the year.

Bell, a senior, won the javelin and the shot put at the Class A state meet.

Bell maintained an 'A' average in school. He will attend Princeton University.
