Deering names new head football coach

PORTLAND — Scott Parsons has been named the new Deering High School head football coach. He replaces Jon Gallant, who resigned after two seasons.

Parsons is a graduate of Kennebunk High School and Columbia College in Columbia, Mo. He has coached at Fordham University, Becker College and St. John Fisher College.

Deering finished with a 4-6 record last season.
