Four Sea Dogs named to All-Star team

Four members of the Portland Sea Dogs were named Wednesday to the Eastern League All-Star Game, to be played July 10 in New Britain, Conn.

Pitchers Drake Britton and Anthony Ranaudo, infielder Michael Almanzar and catcher Christian Vazquez will play for the East team.

Britton, 24, is scheduled to pitch Wednesday night for the Sea Dogs. He currently is 6-6, with a 3.74 ERA.

Ranaudo, 23 is 7-2, with a 2.28 ERA.

Almanzar, 22, is batting .280. He leads the Sea Dogs with 11 home runs and 49 RBI.

Vazquez, 22, is batting .224, with a .335 on-base percentage. Vazquez is one of the top defensive catchers in the league.

After the Sea Dogs play Wednesday night at Hadlock, they go to New Hampshire for four games, before returning to Portland for an eight-day home stand, July 1-8.
