BIDDEFORD — Biddeford High's undefeated volleyball team showed why it was top ranked in Class A Wednesday night, overpowering Gorham in straight sets, 25-19, 25-16, 25-10 in the state semifinals at raucous Steve White Gym.
The win lifted Biddeford to 16-0 and into the Class A state championship game for the second time in three years. The Tigers will play the Greely-Scarborough winner at Husson University in Bangor Saturday at approximately 7 p.m.
Seniors Mariah Hebert and Katelyn Lebreux led the way for Biddeford, which never trailed in any set.
Hebert scored 13 service points and had 24 assists. Lebreux was 21-for-21 serving with seven kills and one block.
