YARMOUTH — David Murphy hit two 3-pointers as Yarmouth scored the first 10 points Saturday night and went on to a 66-52 victory against Cape Elizabeth in a Western Maine Conference schoolboy basketball game.

After the Capers (4-1) pulled within 15-10, Yarmouth (3-2) again pulled away for a 25-16 lead and remained comfortably in front throughout the second half.

Murphy finished with 26 points, Adam LaBrie added 17 and Nathaniel Shields-Auble 10 for the Clippers.

Ethan Murphy scored 16 and Quinn Hewitt 13 for the Capers.

WELLS 74, FREEPORT 61: Jake Moody made five 3-pointers and 14 foul shots while scoring 41 points for the Warriors (2-4) against the Falcons (0-5) at Freeport.

Moody scored 12 points in the second quarter as the Warriors outscored Freeport 24-12 to extend their lead to 42-24 at halftime.

BOOTHBAY 64, TELSTAR 29: John Hepburn scored 20 points and Boothbay (6-0) used a smothering defense to down Telstar (1-5) at Bethel.

POLAND 47, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 44: C.J. Martin hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to lift the Knights (2-4) over the Raiders (4-1) at Fryeburg.

Martin finished with 14 points and Tyler Michaud scored 15 for the Knights.

LAKE REGION 65, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 50: Ben Chaine scored all 10 of his points in the fourth quarter as the Lakers (2-4) pulled away from the Patriots (1-5) at Gray.

Quinn Piland scored 12 points and Marcus DeVoe added 11 to lead five players in double figures for the Lakers, who outscored the Patriots 25-16 in the fourth quarter.

YORK 46, KENNEBUNK 31: Michael Gallagher scored 13 of 15 points in the first half as York (4-2) opened a 27-16 halftime lead over the Rams (1-4) in Kennebunk.

Kennebunk pulled within five in the third quarter, but York used a balanced offense to push the lead back to double digits.

EDWARD LITTLE 73, LAWRENCE 39: Lew Jensen scored 22 points to lead the Red Eddies (2-2) to a win in Fairfield.

MADISON 50, MOUNTAIN VALLEY 26: Dustin West had 10 points and 10 rebounds as the Bulldogs (4-2) beat the Falcons (1-4) in Madison.

OCEANSIDE 74, NOKOMIS 49: The Mariners (5-1) outscored Nokomis 30-0 in the third quarter to pull away for a win at Rockland.

HOCKEY

BRUNSWICK 3, CAPE ELIZABETH 2: Cameron Heatley took Nate Granholm’s pass from below the net and fired a shot over the goalie’s glove at 7:16 of overtime to give Brunswick (3-2) a win against the Capers (0-4-1) in Portland.

Heatley assisted on Matt Brooks’ goal. Ryan Maciejewski also scored for the Dragons. Curtis Guimond scored twice for Cape Elizabeth.

NOBLE/WELLS 5, MARSHWOOD/TRAIP ACADEMY 0: Dean Pratt scored two goals and set up another as the Knights (4-0) beat the Hawks (1-4) at Rochester, N.H.

Tyler Whitten, Ryan Marsh and Kadin Lessard added a goal apiece, and Connor Pease had three assists.

SOUTH PORTLAND 4, BONNY EAGLE 2: Kyle Halvorson scored the eventual winner early in the second period as the Red Riots (3-2) held off the Scots (1-4) at Gorham.

Andrew Whipple added a goal and an assist, and Shannon Tully stopped 36 shots for the Red Riots.

SCARBOROUGH 3, GORHAM 1: Sam Gideon received Cam Nigros’ pass from the corner and lifted it over the goaltender’s glove for the go-ahead goal midway through the third period as the Red Storm (5-1) beat the Rams (4-1) at Saco.
