GORHAM — Justin Broy stopped all 27 shots he faced and Jared Wood scored a pair of goals to lead Gorham to a 3-0 win over Biddeford in a boys’ hockey game Monday afternoon at USM Arena.

Wood opened the scoring with a power-play goal with 43 seconds left in the second period, on assists from Andrew Schmidt and Dylan Turner.

Tucker Buteau padded the lead 6:17 into the third, and Wood closed out the scoring with an empty-net goal, assisted by Buteau, as Gorham moved to 4-0.

Tom Green finished with 23 saves for Biddeford (2-2).

 

LAKE REGION/FRYEBURG/OXFORD HILLS 4, SOUTH PORTLAND 0: Travis Townsend scored a pair of goals and Kaleb Currier collected two assists to lead the Ice Cats (1-2) over the Red Riots (1-2) at Bridgton Academy.

GIRLS’ HOCKEY

SCARBOROUGH 9, YORK 0: Elizabeth Gross scored three goals and assisted on two others to lead the Red Storm (6-0) over the Wildcats (0-5-1) at Alfond Forum.

Samantha Shoebottom added two goals and an assist. Scarborough led 5-0 at the end of the first period.

BOYS’ BASKETBALL

CAPE ELIZABETH 68, FREEPORT 59: Eddie Galvin and Justin Guerette scored 17 points apiece for the Capers (4-0), who used a strong third quarter to pull away from the Falcons (0-4) at Freeport.

Jack O’Rourke added 14 points for the Capers, who outscored Freeport 26-14 in the third quarter to break open a game that was tied 33-33 at halftime.

Brendon Qualls and Jack Davenport led Freeport with 19 and 16 points, respectively. Matt Schultheis grabbed nine rebounds.

 

BRUNSWICK 76, LEWISTON 60: Blake Gordon finished with 29 points and five steals, while Elliot Boyd added 17 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Dragons (3-1) past the Blue Devils (2-2) at Brunswick.

Isaiah Harris paced Lewiston with 16 points, Carlos Gonzalez scored 15 and Mohamed Mohamed chipped in 10.

 

OLD ORCHARD BEACH 67, NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 52: Joey Gildart scored 14 of his 20 points in the fourth quarter as the Seagulls (4-0) pulled away from the Panthers (1-2) at Old Orchard Beach.

Brian Roberts scored 22 points and grabbed nine rebounds, and Tyler Scott collected six steals for the Seagulls, who outscored NYA 29-18 in the fourth quarter.

El Tayeb Dahia and Chase Gendron scored 14 points apiece for the Panthers.

 

HYDE 70, A.R. GOULD 32: Wilson MacMillan and Akim Sanni scored 14 points apiece to lead the Phoenix (3-0) over the Bears (0-3) at South Portland.

Evander Lenardson and Talin Rowe added 10 points apiece for Hyde, which opened the game with a 20-5 run.

Keegan Gaouette made three 3-pointers and finished with 13 points to pace A.R. Gould.

SACOPEE VALLEY 58, GREATER PORTLAND CHRISTIAN 31: Alex Fenderson scored 18 points to help the Hawks (1-2) pulled away from the Lions (0-4) at South Hiram.

Dominic Locke added 10 points for Sacopee Valley, which outscored the Lions 22-7 in the third quarter after building a 12-point halftime lead.

The Lions were led by David Davol with 11 points.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

BRUNSWICK 62, LEWISTON 61: Gillian Doehring hit a jumper from 10 feet as time expired to lift the Dragons (3-1) over the Blue Devils (0-4) at Lewiston.

Julia Champagne led Brunswick with 20 points, five assists and five steals. Doehring and Lyse Henshaw added 10 points apiece.

Lewiston was paced by Kristina Blais, who made four 3-pointers and finished with 24 points.

 

OLD ORCHARD BEACH 69, NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 25: Abby Dubois finished with 15 points to lead the Seagulls (4-0) past the Panthers (0-3) at Yarmouth.

Peyton Feitz added 11 points and Kelsey Custeau scored 10 for OOB.

Charlotte Esancy led NYA with 10 points. Sara Thompson chipped in with nine.

BOOTHBAY 52, MT. ABRAM 21: Sara Durgan scored 12 points to lead the Seahawks (2-2) past the Roadrunners (1-4) in Salem.

Hannah Morley added nine points for Boothbay.

SACOPEE VALLEY 65, GREATER PORTLAND CHRISTIAN 29: Abby Hughes scored 14 points to lead four players in double figures for the Hawks (1-2) in a win over the Lions (0-4) at South Hiram.

Morgan Sanborn added 12 points and Dakota Miner and Morgan Carpenter each scored 11 for the Hawks, who raced out to a 25-2 first-quarter lead.

The Lions were led by Ashlee Dawson with 12 points and Clarissa Jones with eight.
