BANGOR — Greater Portland Christian won a schoolboy basketball for the first time in nearly three years Wednesday night, defeating Highview/Penobscot Christian 58-34 in a Class D game.

Jeremiah Hammond scored 20 points to lead the Lions (1-9) past Highview/Penobscot Christian (2-6).

Ethan Spaulding added 14 points and David Davol had 10 for Greater Portland Christian, which last won in February 2011.

YARMOUTH 77, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 42: David Murphy scored 18 points to lead Yarmouth (8-3) over the Patriots (2-9) at Gray.

Cody Cook chipped in with 10 points for the Clippers.

Yarmouth went on a 20-6 run in the second quarter to take a 37-21 halftime lead.

Andreas Kariotis led Gray-New Gloucester with 18 points.

SACOPEE VALLEY 57, A.R. GOULD 40: Alex Fenderson scored 12 of his 25 points in the first quarter, helping the Hawks (2-7) build a 19-3 lead against the Bears (0-10) at South Hiram.

Adam Fakhareldin scored 13 for A.R. Gould.

BOOTHBAY REGION 75, OAK HILL 30: John Hepburn had 30 points as the Seahawks (10-1) downed Oak Hill (3-7) at Wales.

Julian Aponte added 10 points for Boothbay.

Jonah Martin had 14 points for Oak Hill.

LISBON 52, MADISON 51: Jacob Johnson hit a basket at the buzzer to lift the Greyhounds (7-5) over the Bulldogs (5-6) at Madison.

Johnson finished with 12 points and Tucker Brannon added four for Lisbon.

Jared Miller scored 14 points, including four 3-pointers, to lead Madison. Derek LeBlank chipped in with 12 points.

CARRABEC 64, MT. ABRAM 38: John Layman had 15 points as the Cobras won at North Anson.

Boog Dunphy added 13 points for Carrabec and Levi Murray had 10.

Jave Davenport and Dan Luce each had nine for Mt. Abram.

GARDINER 58, LINCOLN ACADEMY 50: Ed Weymouth had 20 points, three steals and two blocks to lead the Tigers (6-4) over Lincoln Academy (5-5) at Gardiner.

Brad Weston and Seth McFarland each scored 10 points, and Josh McKelvey had five points and seven rebounds for Gardiner.

Lincoln was led by A.J. Oliver with 15 points and Devin Scherer with 12.

OLD ORCHARD BEACH 75, BUCKFIELD 40: Joey Gildard scored 20 points to lead Old Orchard Beach (9-2) over the Bucks (3-7) at Buckfield.

The Seagulls scored 30 points in the second quarter to take a 45-15 halftime lead. Eric Hogan scored all 10 of his points in the run and Gildard added eight.

Evan Christensen finished with 16 points for Old Orchard. Jared Eastman had 20 for the Bucks.

MASSABESIC 71, BIDDEFORD 46: Massabesic (3-7) scored 25 points in the fourth quarter to pull away from Biddeford (0-13) at Waterboro.

Dan Amabile paced the Mustangs with 23 points. Cale Thornton chipped in with 12.

Corey Creeger and Patrick Pearl scored 17 points each for the Tigers.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

PINE TREE ACADEMY 45, SEACOAST CHRISTIAN 32: Allison Verrill scored 14 points, Alex Goodman had 10 points and 12 rebounds, and Kim Emerson added eight points, 12 boards and eight blocks as the Breakers (8-2) downed the Guardians (3-7) at Freeport.

Kylene DeSmith scored 15 points for Seacoast Christian.

ST. DOMINIC 49, WINTHROP 18: Faith Grady and Kelly Pomerleau scored 12 points apiece to lead the Saints (10-2) past the Ramblers (0-13) at Auburn.

BOYS’ HOCKEY

NOBLE/WELLS 9, BONNY EAGLE 0: Dean Pratt scored four goals to lead Noble/Wells (7-2) against Bonny Eagle (1-7-1) at Rochester, N.H.

Connor Pease scored two goals in the first period as Noble/Wells grabbed a 4-0 lead. Ryer Smith also finished with two goals.

Nate Paul turned in 13 saves for the shutout. Mat Bridges made 50 saves through two periods for Bonny Eagle. Kyle McKay took over in the third and had six saves on seven shots.

POLAND/GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 2, LAKE REGION/FRYEBURG ACADEMY/OXFORD HILLS 1: Ethan Cailler had a goal and an assist in the second period, helping the Patriotic Knights (3-5) edge the Ice Cats (2-5) at Auburn.

Caleb Bridgham also scored for Poland/Gray-New Gloucester.

David Long gave the Ice Cats a chance, making 42 saves, including 24 in the third period. Mason LaPlante scored in the first period for Lake Region/Fryeburg Academy/Oxford Hills.

GORHAM 13, MASSABESIC/OLD ORCHARD BEACH 1: Jared Wood finished with three goals, and Carl Bear and Carter Landry added two goals each to lead the Rams (6-1) past the Sea Stangs (0-8) at Gorham.

GIRLS’ HOCKEY

CAPE ELIZABETH/WAYNFLETE 10, PORTLAND/DEERING 1: Kathryn Clark finished with four goals and three assists to lead Cape Elizabeth/Waynflete (6-6) past Portland/Deering (0-12) at Portland.

Hannah Bosworth added three goals and one assist, Kate Bosworth finished with a goal and an assist, and Allison Mills scored one goal for Cape Elizabeth/Waynflete.

Lauren McIntyre scored for Portland/Deering with an unassisted power-play goal late in the third period.
