YARMOUTH — David Murphy poured in 36 points as Yarmouth opened its Western Maine Conference boys’ basketball season with a 90-53 win Saturday over Kennebunk.

Adam LaBrie finished with 17 points for the Clippers, who built a 22-10 lead after one quarter, then broke the game open with a 25-6 third quarter.

Austin Sandler paced Kennebunk with 18 points. Nate Gilbert scored 11 and Jack Lapham added 10. 

LISBON 49, ST. DOMINIC 43: Kendall Roy and Tucker Brannon combined to make 9 of 10 free throws in overtime as the Greyhounds beat the Saints at Lisbon Falls.

Roy finished with 13 points, Brannon had 11, and Jacob Johnston and Kyle Bourget each chipped in with 10.

Madison Jalbert and Eric Ulin scored 10 points apiece for St. Dominic. Matt Dyer hit 1 of 2 free throws for the Saints with 12 seconds left in regulation to force overtime.

PINE TREE ACADEMY 43, GREATER PORTLAND CHRISTIAN 42: Chris Wilday made a 10-footer at the buzzer to give the Breakers (1-0) a victory over the Lions (0-2) in Freeport.

The Lions rallied from a 39-27 deficit entering the fourth quarter to take a 42-41 lead on David Davol’s runner in the lane.

Jean-Pierre Tashamala led Pine Tree with 12 points, and Wilday scored 11. Davol finished with 16 points. 

FRYEBURG ACADEMY 41, LAKE REGION 30: Ryan Gullickson and Jaiquan Causer scored 14 points each to carry the Raiders past the Lakers in Naples.

Sam Smith scored 13 points for Lake Region. 

HALL-DALE 65, TELSTAR 35: Brian Allen scored 19 points to lead the Bulldogs to a Mountain Valley Conference victory over the Rebels in Bethel.

Wesley Lapointe and Nat Crocker each added 10 points for Hall-Dale.

Austin Ryerson scored nine points for Telstar. 

MOUNTAIN VALLEY 46, MT. ABRAM 42: Tom Marshall scored 17 points, including four 3-pointers, to lead the Falcons to a win in Salem.

Caleb Gauvin added 15 points for Mountain Valley.

Arthur Ryan scored 13 points to lead Mt. Abram, while Quinton Hannah chipped in with 10. 

FOREST HILLS 69, VINALHAVEN 34: Tanner Daigle finished with 25 points and eight rebounds, and Ryan Petrin added 18 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Tigers (2-0) past the Vikings (0-2) at Jackman.

Brandon Ouellette chipped in with 11 points.

Cody Hamilton scored 16 points and Noah Slivinsky contributed 15 for Vinalhaven.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

YARMOUTH 57, KENNEBUNK 25: Sean Cahill and Shannon Fallon each scored 15 points as the Clippers opened their season with a win at home.

Yarmouth broke the game open with an 8-0 run at the start of the second half for a 31-13 lead.

Sarah Bradley paced Kennebunk with nine points.

LAKE REGION 59, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 29: Tiana-Jo Carter had 14 points and 11 rebounds as the Lakers beat the Raiders at Naples.

Lake Region also got 13 points from Jordan Turner and 12 from Kristen Huntress.

Lexi L’Heureux led Fryeburg with eight points. 

SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 48, MADISON 30: Samantha Richards scored 14 points and Emily Keene added 12 to lead Spruce Mountain to a win in Madison.

The Bulldogs were led by Bronte Elias with 10 points and Kristen Wood with nine.

ST. DOMINIC 5, SCARBOROUGH 4: Caleb Labrie tipped in Brads Berube’s shot from the point 3:37 into overtime to give the Saints a win over the Red Storm in Saco.

Scarborough tied the game with 2:33 left in regulation on Cam Loiselle’s second goal of the game. Jack Gross also scored twice for the Red Storm.

Labrie finished with two goals and two assists, and Berube also scored twice for St. Dom’s. 

THORNTON ACADEMY 3, PORTLAND/DEERING 3: Stephan Barry scored twice as Portland/Deering (0-0-1) scored the final three goals to forge a tie with the Trojans (0-0-1) in Portland.

Dominic Tocci also scored for the Bulldogs. Taylor Browne, Owen Elliott and Owen Lemoine each had a goal for Thornton. 

WINDHAM/SACOPEE VALLEY 10, MASSABESIC/OOB 0: Zack Callahan scored five goals as Windham/Sacopee Valley won its season opener at Biddeford Ice Arena.

Tyler Johnson and Gage Chenard each added a pair of goals, and Giovanni Ruotolo also scored. Clayton Owens made 22 saves for the shutout. 

GORHAM 5, YARMOUTH 3: Tucker Buteau and Shawn Sullivan scored in a three-minute span late in the second period to break a 2-2 tie as the Rams beat the Clippers at USM Arena.

Andrew Schmidt and Jordan Ward scored first-period goals for Gorham, and Jared Wood got an empty-netter just before the final buzzer.

Issak Dearden scored twice for Yarmouth. Walter Conrad added an unassisted power-play goal. 

FALMOUTH 10, CAPE ELIZABETH 2: Isaac Nordstrom notched a hat trick as the Yachtsmen cruised past the Capers at Family Ice Center.

Falmouth scored 10 unanswered goals after Cape grabbed an early 2-0 lead on goals by Jack Drinan and Curtis Guimond.

Tyler Jordan, Brandon Peters and Robbie Armitage each finished with two goals and an assist, and Andre Clement had four assists. 

NOBLE/WELLS 2, FRYEBURG/LAKE REGION/OXFORD HILLS 1: Dean Pratt’s goal with 6:30 remaining lifted the Knights to a season-opening win at Rochester, N.H.

Dakota Russo gave the visiting Ice Cats a 1-0 lead late in the first period.

Keegan Smith tied it with a short-handed goal midway through the second.

Ryan Marsh assisted on both Noble/Wells goals, and Wyatt Ricker made 23 saves. David Long stopped 41 shots for the Ice Cats. 

CHEVERUS 6, MARSHWOOD/TRAIP 0: Alex Grant-Roy scored twice as Cheverus opened its season with a victory over Marshwood/Traip (0-1) in Portland.

Keenan Thomas, Jimmy Hannigan and Conor Ryle each added a goal and an assist, and James King also scored. 

CAMDEN HILLS 8, GARDINER 0: Jack Orne scored three goals and assisted on two others for Camden Hills (1-0) in a victory over Gardiner (0-1) at Rockport.

Perrin Ganter added two goals, and Simon Lydon, Grayson Szumilas and Chase Matteo also scored. 

POLAND/GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 3, SOUTH PORTLAND 0: The Patriotic Knights scored three power-play goals – two by Ethan Cailler – to win their season opener against the Red Riots at Portland Ice Arena.

Liam Stewart scored the other goal, and Isaiah Dubois assisted on two. 

KENNEBUNK 8, BONNY EAGLE 2: Donovan Connor scored twice in the first period, and Bryce Fraser added a hat trick during Kennebunk’s five-goal third period as the Rams pulled away from the Scots at Gorham.

WINSLOW 5, PRESQUE ISLE 2: Jim Fowler had two goals and an assist as the Black Raiders opened their season with a win in Winslow.

YARMOUTH/FREEPORT 5, GORHAM/BONNY EAGLE 1: Katie Brown scored three goals in the second period, and Michele Robichaud registered four assists for the Clippers in a win over the Rams at Travis Roy Arena.

Emily Johnson contributed a goal and two assists, and Ariel Potter also scored for Yarmouth/Freeport.

Charlotte Smith got an unassisted power-play goal for Gorham/Bonny Eagle. 

GREELY 6, BIDDEFORD 1: Danita Storey scored all six goals for the Rangers in a win over the Tigers at Biddeford Ice Arena.

Veronica Todd’s shutout bid was spoiled by Dalani Roy with 1:28 remaining. 

LEWISTON 4, YORK 0: Erin Hubbard, Emily Turner, Erica Lemieux and Mikaela Brown scored second-period goals to lead the Blue Devils past the Wildcats at Rochester, N.H.
