Pirates gut the Sharks

PORTLAND — Rookie forwards Brendan Shinnimin and Chris Brown each scored two goals to lead the Portland Pirates to a 7-3 win against the Worcester Sharks in in an AHL game at the Cumberland County Civic Center.

Alexandre Bolduc, Evan Brophey and Michael Stone also scored as the Pirates opened up a five-point lead over the second-place Sharks in the Atlantic Division.

Broadie Read scored two goals for the Sharks.
