CANTON, Ohio — The Maine Red Claws halted a nine-game road losing streak Thursday, knocking off NBA D-League East Division-leading

Canton, 113-105.

Frank Gaines scored a game-high 29 points and Tyler Brown came off the bench to score a season-high 20 for the Red Claws. Daniel Orton had his first double-double with 18 points and a game-high 13 rebounds.

The Red Claws (12-15) hadn‘t won on the road since a Dec. 14 game at Springfield. Maine grabbed an 11-point lead in the first quarter on hot three-point shooting, but had to battle back to win the game in the fourth quarter. The Red Claws hit 13 3-point shots, which was just three short of the franchise single-game record.

The Red Claws return home Friday to play host to Springfield at the Portland Expo.
