Schoolboy roundup: Marshwood/Traip Academy wins in hockey

GORHAM — Joe Spinney scored three goals, and Devon Mitchell added two goals and an assist Saturday to lead Marshwood/Traip Academy to a 6-2 victory against Bonny Eagle in a schoolboy hockey game at the University of Southern Maine.

Troy Stevens also scored for the Hawks (5-7). Justin Miles scored both goals for Bonny Eagle (2-11-1).

Tyler Gagnon had 22 saves for the Hawks. Matt Bridges made 30 saves for the Scots.

SOUTH PORTLAND 9, MASSABESIC/OLD ORCHARD BEACH 1: Tyler Goldberg, Dylan Farrell-Reny, Kyle Halverson and Chris Mitchell scored two goals each as South Portland (7-5) downed Massabesic/Old Orchard Beach (0-13) at Biddeford.

Brandon Roy scored for Massabesic/Old Orchard Beach in the third period.

SCARBOROUGH 11, PORTLAND/DEERING 0: Jake Gross had four goals and an assist to lead the Red Storm (10-2) over the Bulldogs (6-3-1) at Portland.

Matt Henderson added a goal and four assists.

BRUNSWICK 5, EDWARD LITTLE 0: Jared Parent had two goals and two assists to lead the Dragons (8-6-1) over the Red Eddies (8-5) at Brunswick.

Blake Alexander had 25 saves in the shutout.

GORHAM 3, KENNEBUNK 1: Austin Violette, Jared Wood and Carter Landry scored as Gorham (9-3) defeated visiting Kennebunk (7-5-1).

Andrew Schmidt had two assists for Gorham. David Parker scored for Kennebunk.


WAYNFLETE 68, SACOPEE VALLEY 23: Serge Nyirikamba scored 18 points to lead the Flyers (13-2) over the Hawks (5-10) at South Hiram.

Alex Fenderson led Sacopee Valley with eight points.

A.R. GOULD 49, RANGELEY 44: Cullen Dumbrocyo’s three consecutive free throws provided the lead, highlighting a 17-11 run in the fourth quarter that lifted A.R. Gould (2-14) over Rangeley (3-13) at South Portland.

Robert Blair scored 12, Gage Barton 11 and Dumbrocyo 10 for A.R. Gould. Tim White led Rangeley with 23.

MEDOMAK VALLEY 50, BELFAST 32: Nick DePatsy scored eight of his 18 points in the third quarter to lead the Panthers (9-8) past the Lions (1-15) at Waldoboro.

SEACOAST CHRISTIAN 43, PINE TREE ACADEMY 37: Logan Archer scored 22 points as the Guardians (9-7) beat Pine Tree Academy (5-12) at Eliot.

Isaac Lacroix added 14 for Seacoast Christian. Chris Wilday had 19 and Jean-Pierre Tashamala 11 for the Breakers.

OCEANSIDE 71, WATERVILLE 54: Isaiah Stone-Patterson scored 25 points and sank six 3-pointers to lead the Mariners (15-2) to a win against the Purple Panthers (9-7) at Waterville.

CALAIS 64, FORT KENT 49: Tyler Niles scored 22 points to help Calais (13-3) defeat the Warriors (8-9) at Fort Kent.

Cody Plourde scored 12 points and Anthony Desjardins had 10 for Fort Kent.
